The White House was built over 200 hundred years ago and was the residence of over 40 presidents. Over the centuries tens of thousands of employees worked in the White House, and thousands of tourists visited. The White House was first built on October 13, 1792, and became one of the most famous buildings in the world. There was so much history and activity at the White House that it would be hard to believe that nothing out of the ordinary took place. The White House was believed to be haunted by a ghost known as the demon cat since the 19th century.
Majority of the sightings of the demon cat are reported by guards that patrolled the White House during the night shift. The most famous encounter of the demon cat was by a guard that saw a black cat approach him in the darkness. At first the guard thought nothing of it, considering at the time stray cats roaming the area was common. Fear set in the guard when the cat grew as it walked closer to him. Eventually the cat grew to be the size of a tiger. The enormous cat sprang at him before disappearing.
Cats roaming this area were common, and some people claim that some guards could have exaggerated the size of the cat because of being intoxicated. Others say that if that were the case, why was the demon cat spotted by other guards for multiple decades. What do you think about the demon cat? Do you believe the demon cat was a ghost or a cryptid? Do you believe the demon cat existed?
